As a young girl I always loved creating things. I was surrounded by creative people in my family. From my great grandmother’s cake decorating, to my grandmother’s sewing, there was always creating going on around me. I always knew I would be designing in some way or another. And from my childhood to adulthood, I learned that we are what me make ourselves. I am so fortunate that I get to live my dream of creating and sharing with others. I want women to feel beautiful, comfortable, and confident in my suits.
When did you start your line?
I started Red Dolly Swimwear back in 2008 after having such a hard time finding a modest and cute swimsuit for myself. I’ve always loved vintage fashion and the retro style. I loved how my first Red & White polka dot one piece suit came out, so I decided to start selling online to see if other women were looking for the same thing.
Where did you start selling?
I started my Etsy shop and immediately was receiving orders. When I saw that there was a demand, and I worked on adding new colors and styles throughout the years. I love classic prints and colors such as polka dots and stripes.
When did you start crafting matching suits for girls?
A few years later, after receiving quite a few requests from women asking for matching suits for their daughter, I started Red Dolly Girls. Then a couple years after I had my baby girl and knew what they were talking about. I of course had to make matching baby suits for her! That is when I added Red Dolly Mini to my line. Eight years from when I started, I now have a factory producing my line and it is being sold to online and shop vendors throughout the world!
I always encourage my children to never be afraid to follow their dream, or if they have an idea to try it, because you never know where it will lead!
